Abstract

Open Science (OS) offers opportunities to increase research transparency, accessibility, and collaboration but widespread adoption in higher education remains limited. This paper presents a hypothesized causal pathway grounded in implementation science to guide OS adoption and sustainment among researchers. We describe key implementation strategies across individual, interpersonal, and organizational levels and illustrate their use through a case example from our College of Allied Health Sciences. Using a logic model framework, we detail inputs, activities, outputs and emerging outcomes. Lessons learned inform practical recommendations for integrating OS practices into academic research culture and infrastructure to support long-term, systemic change.
