Abstract

Dissonance has been studied right from 1962. In this paper we have undertaken a study to review on cognitive dissonance and its effect on a person’s decision making as decision making is an inherent part of every person’s life. This review revisits foundational work, key theoretical frameworks, and seminal experiments, and offers conceptual propositions for future research. Cognitive dissonance is integral to understanding how individuals navigate conflicting beliefs and attitudes during decision-making. Certain Logical deductive propositionsproposed may serve as the basis for empirical exploration and behavioral interventions aimed at enhancing individual well-being.
